BENEFITS OF TANKSALOT WATER TANKS.
Our corrugated steel water tanks are trusted by commercial property professionals and homeowners throughout New Zealand.
The smart choice for your water storage.
There are many reasons to choose our water tanks for your commercial or residential project.

Exact tank volume saves money.
Getting Tanksalot water tanks custom-made to the exact volume you need can be more cost-effective than paying for larger off-the-shelf alternatives that may exceed your water detention or retention needs or council obligations.
The excess costs for larger tanks can climb quickly as the number of water tanks you require increases. This is one of many reasons why property developers and commercial specifiers choose our tanks for large-scale developments.

Slimline water tanks up to 10,000L.
We construct our Slimline tanks in standard or custom-made sizes up to an impressive 10,000 litre capacity. Most other slim tanks on the market max out at 5000 litres, meaning multiple tanks are required for water volumes exceeding 5001 litres. Multiple tanks increase installation materials and labour costs by the number of tanks and can introduce more potential connection failure points.

Exact fittings placements reduce installation costs.
You choose exactly where your plumbing connections need to be positioned to meet your requirements, and our team installs all of the fittings. Every tank we manufacture is tested for water tightness before dispatch, meaning our tanks arrive on-site with minimal connection work required by plumbers. Besides offering a clean and tidy aesthetic, this eliminates any risk of having tradespeople cut your tank and can dramatically reduce plumbing material and labour costs. We love seeing our tanks being hooked up and good to go, in no time at all.

Tanksalot water tanks reduce landscaping costs.
Our beautiful AQUAPLATE® corrugated steel water tanks are loved by property developers and homeowners who appreciate that functionality and durability can look great too. It’s not uncommon for our tanks to be positioned in unconcealed locations. Some people opt for cheaper alternatives, only to spend their perceived savings or much more on landscaping and shielding costs to hide ugly tanks. These costs can rise significantly for commercial developments when you consider the cumulative costs for landscaping materials, labour, freight, and project management.

Custom-made water tanks reduce visual impact and maximise space utilisation.
Being able to specify the exact height, width, and depth you need enables Tanksalot water tanks to be installed beneath window and fence lines or in narrow and hard-to-access spaces (e.g., under decks) where off-the-shelf tanks can’t fit or create an unsightly nuisance.

Tanksalot water tanks are cheaper to install and easier to maintain than underground tanks.
Our above-ground water tanks eliminate the need for excavation and associated labour and council compliance costs, making the entire process from purchase to installation faster and cheaper. They provide easy access for routine checks and maintenance, unlike underground tanks, which can be challenging to inspect and repair due to their subterranean location. Easy maintenance not only extends the tank’s lifespan but also reduces the likelihood of issues going undetected.

FAQ's
Why do you use corrugated steel?
We choose corrugated AQUAPLATE® steel as we believe it delivers the best possible water storage solution Our corrugated steel water tanks do not contain BPA or UV stabilisers. Using steel allows us to custom make any tank to meet your specific needs. Steel also offers superior strength, fire resistance, and can be fully recycled.

How do I choose the best water tank for my needs?
Selecting the best option for your property depends on your available space, usage requirements and local regulatory requirements. Our team can assess your needs and help you find the ideal solution. We recommend considering:
- Proposed tank location
- Physical space constraints
- Daily water consumption needs
- Intended use (drinking water, garden irrigation, etc.)
- Local rainfall patterns
- Budget and installation requirements
- Local Council stormwater attenuation/detention requirements
What is the difference between a retention tank and a detention tank?
A retention water tank is designed to capture and store stormwater runoff for later use. It retains the water on-site, preventing it from immediately entering the drainage system. This stored water can be used for irrigation, landscaping, or other non-potable purposes, contributing to sustainable water management practices. Retention tanks help reduce the demand on municipal water supplies and mitigate the impact of urban development on local water resources.
A detention water tank is primarily focussed on controlling the flow and release of stormwater to prevent flooding and erosion. Detention tanks temporarily hold and slowly release stormwater into the drainage system at a controlled rate. This helps manage peak flows during heavy rainfall, reducing the risk of downstream flooding and erosion.
What is the lead time on water tanks?
We can turn around your tank order in 7 to 10 working days, excluding delivery. Contact us to discuss your requirements and we will confirm your lead time.
Where do you deliver and how much does it cost?
We deliver tanks to metropolitan Auckland for free and can arrange nationwide delivery. Contact us to discuss your requirements and we will prepare an estimate.
What is a seismic restraint?
Seismic restraints are designed to secure water tanks and prevent them from tipping, sliding, or overturning during an earthquake. The ground shaking during seismic events can pose a significant risk to the stability of structures, including water tanks, and securing them is essential to ensure public safety and the integrity of water supply systems. Seismic restraints also help minimise the risk of damage to the tank itself and reduce the potential for water contamination or loss.
